The Element of Earth

The element of earth is a powerful energy, it can bring aliveness into your body and new beginnings. But at the same time there is a sense of completion or ending.

As a young boy I loved walking through the forest behind our farm. The trees where tall and full of life, at the same time the ground was soft and gracious, giving life. There was a smell that can only be described as earthy. The sense of the life-giving qualities stimulated every sense I had.

Mother earth

As we discussed before the element of earth is associated with the root chakra, that is the “I have”. The energy is a feminine one of mother earth. She is connected to fertility. As a mother she is strong and holds us firmly in place to allow us to transform and evolve. It is through the nourishment of earth that we transition into the cycle of our human existence. Moving from life out of the earth to death returning to the earth.

The element of earth has a very distinct and strong vibration. Within the earth there are ley lines that crisscross and produce pockets of energy where they meet. At these points, all kinds of spiritual sites are built for enlightenment and healing. It is also through the earth that crystals are born and energized, transmitting high vibrations of healing and protecting energy fields to us.

Astrology and Numerology

We find the earth element in astrology as well. If you are a Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn you have an earth element. These people are well grounded and down to earth so to speak. Practicality is a strong point, and everything has a process to go through. They love being out doors in some compacity, whether it is gardening or being in nature it is relaxing and inspiring.

You can also find the earth element in the Tarot in the suit of pentacles.  In the tarot the earth element is all about the material things. In numerology the earth element is associated with the spiritual and is aliened with the energy of 4,6 and 8. Energetically 8 is about karma, and the earth will not hide where you came from and what you did.

People that are aligned with the element of earth are well grounded, they live life with a determination to achieve what they want out of life. They are very steadfast and reliable in what ever they are connected with. How ever they can be a little stubborn and hold their emotion close to themselves.

If you are connected to the earth element it is important that you stay grounded. When you are feeling energetically and emotionally drained it is important that you reconnect to mother earth.

Earthing

Find what works be for you. There are earthing groups that you can join. They go out into nature and as a group will go bare foot and connect into the earth energy. You do not need a group to do this, just go outside on the grass or in the dirt. Stand with your bare feet slightly apart and mindfully connect into the earth. Imagine that you are sending roots from your feet into the earth as deep as you can send them. Then draw energy up from the center of the earth into your body, energizing your whole system with the energy of the earth. And at the same time, sending anything that does not support you back into the earth to be absorbed and transformed into positive energy.

Connecting with nature

Other ways on can get reconnected with the earth is to take a walk-in nature, among the tree’s. Maybe even hugging a tree, connecting in with its roots that good deep into the earth. Another option you might enjoy is working directly in the earth doing gardening and getting your hand and feet in the earth.

Other ways to connect

People that have a strong element of earth like to work with crystals, connecting in with the energy they have to offer. Drumming circles might be another activity for you to explore, as drumming is very grounding. The last thing I would suggest is the element of earth is aligned with the new moon energy. If you connect in with the new moon energy try sitting outside in the evening with a new moon. You might be pleasantly surprised.
